Fantastic day on Mt Pilatus

Today we took the train from our hotel into Lucerne. We bought tickets to go on a whole day trip to Mt Pilatus.

It started with a boat trip to Alpnachstad.

Lucerne

Looking back to the city of Lucerne

It was very misty on some parts of the lake.

Us, with Mt Pilatus in the background.

Waiting in line to catch the cog wheel train up to the very top of Mt Pilatus. I was a little bit scared but it was fun. It was very steep in parts and it's the worlds steepest cogwheel train. The gradient is 48% ... Whatever that means.

Looking out the back of the train where we were sitting.

The scenery was magnificent.

Here I am 7000 feet above sea level.

We did some walks on the mountain to some viewpoints....

And another

This walk took us through the mountain and out through the other side.

That's a church in the distance but very high up.

We took this cable car down the other side of Mt Pilatus. It was a bit scary too!

That's a toboggan run down there that is over 1km long. Dad did it.

That's me waiting for him to come back up.

The next bit down was by way of a gondola...

Me and mum on the gondola. I sang opera on the way down. When we got back to the city of Lucerne we had a little walk as we looked for a place to eat.

That's me running in the bridge.

Sitting down for dinner after a long day!
