We got up even later this morning. Mum finished her book while we all had breakfast in bed. It was very foggy this morning and only cleared by midday.
San Gimignano is a pretty little town with a wall around it and has lots of towers.
There once were over 70 but now there are only 13. We saw all of them but we didn't climb any of them as mums thighs were still sore from yesterday's climb up the duomo in Siena.
There are lots of lovely shops selling pottery, wine, artwork and handbags. We were tempted by it all. Mum bought a handbag and the man in the shop gave me a purse for free! It was just what I wanted.
I took this photo of mum and dad.
And this one of mum eating!
We went inside the Collegiata, the duomo. We were not allowed to take photos inside because the frescoes (murals) are so old. Mum had studied some of them at University so was quite excited. I liked all the stories but some of them were quite scary. I wandered around the church on my own.
This is dad swinging me outside the duomo. It's very plain compared to the duomo.
We did some more wandering around and had a gelato.
On the way home the sun was making the countryside look very colourful so we stopped to take pictures. This is down the dirt track from where we are staying.
That's San Gimignano.
It was a lovely evening when we got home.
Tomorrow we have to get up early as we are going to catch a train into Florence. Ciao.
