Walk along the embankment

Today we took the bus and tube into London. We walked across the Thames from Embankment Tube station to the London Eye. There was only a short queue so we got on without a long wait.


First we did a 4D show which I didn't like. I had to wear these funny glasses.


The London Eye was great though! We had the best capsule. It was decorated in flowers.






We saw lots from the top of the Eye. I could even see St Pauls Cathedral. I want to go there and whisper to mum and dad from the whispering gallery.









We saw lots of other interesting things as we walked along the Embankment....

Here it is!!! We climbed to the very top- above the dome. It was a lot of steps. We weren't allowed to take photos in the Church. We did whisper in the whispering gallery. It seemed to travel along the walls.



Can you see Tower Bridge? This photo was taken from above the dome. Mum worked near here and we met one of her friends for dinner.




Here I am, across the road from mums old work. That is the Monument behind me and it was built in memory of the Great Fire of London in 1666. The fire lasted for 5 days and burnt down lots of London. It started in a bakery.





Mum and her friend Vina in Leadenhall Market where we had dinner. It was a looonng day!

Before we went to Lion King we walked along the Thames from Vauxhall to Covent Gardens. On the way we saw a gallery called Tate Britain that I remembered from one of my Anthony Brown books. He wrote about a visit there as a child and how he was inspired to draw. This is me in front of Tate Britain.



Next we walked past Palace of Westminster and Big Ben. Did you know that Big Ben is the name of the bell in the clock tower and not the name of the clock tower itself. The clock has been ticking since 1859.











We also saw the Queen... NOT!!

Today we went to see the LION KING!



I really liked Scar because his costume was so amazing and I liked his voice. He was very good at his evil voice..... MOOOHAHAHAHA!!

Mum and Dad loved the baboon. She had a great voice and a very big bottom.

Tales from Oxford

In Oxford we went shopping, had a very very yummy yummy lunch and did some sight seeing.

There were lots of old buildings and loads of bikes.

Bourton on the Water

Today we drove from Wales, through the Cotswolds to Oxford. We stopped at Bourton on the Water for morning tea. There were busloads of old people. We didn't stay long.

Chepstow Castle & Tintern Abbey

Chepstow castle was built by the Normans in the 1100's. We wandered up and down the castle remains and all around the grounds. Sometimes mum and dad couldn't find me as I raced ahead.


















In the afternoon we went to Tintern Abbey.

Worm Head

Today we went to Worm Head. It is on the south coast of Wales. We did a long walk but it was mostly fun. I especially liked looking for crabs in the rock pools but there were none.

Big Pit

We went down a coal mine called Big Pit. It'sfeet meters down. We went down a cage. We had to wear helmets and battery packs and a mask around our waists. My helmet kept slipping off. It wasn't heavy but the strap had broken so thats why it kept falling off. It was very dark. I thought it was going to be scary. Can I tell you a little secret...there are two wires in the mine and if you hold them together they make a noise and if you turn your lights off in the mine you can see the sparks from the wires. ( the wires were used for signalling where the miners were)

Mind the stinging nettle!

Taking a walk near my Auntie Annemarie's place in Caerleon, Wales.



I got stung my stinging nettle on the left side of my left foot. It hurt for ages. I rubbed a dock leaf on my foot. Dock leaves help stop the stinging for a little while. We walked for hours! But got to see some roman ruins - an amphitheater, roman barracks and a roman bath.



I met a school girl called Mary. We tried on roman helmets. Mum and dad thought they were very heavy but I could lift one of them with one hand.
