De Biesbosch

Today we had a cruisey morning and didn't get going till about midday. We hired some bikes- I had to have a seat on Dad's as the kids bike was too big for me,



We saw beavers (stuffed),
horses and swans on our ride....










And then after lunch we went to Kinderdijk, a Unesco heritage site, where there are 19 windmills. We even got to go inside one. So cool.

Bruges to Biesbosch

After packing up our stuff, we left the Youth Hostel and walked back into Bruges. We went on a cruise along the canals. The man told us that some of the buildings were more than 900 years old! Mum and dad took loads of photos. The cutest, I think, is the one of the dog sleeping.

Later that day we jumped back in the car again and headed off to the Netherlands. We got to the youth hostel in the De Biesbosch National Park, just in time for dinner.

In Bruges

We stayed the night in Dover in a little hostel. It didn't look nice from the outside, but it was nice. After a big breakfast, we drove onto the ferry to Dover. We played a card game called "Stop the Bus" to pass the time. I beat the pants off Mum and Dad!

It didn't take long to drive to Bruges, but we were all very tired when we got to the Youth Hostel. I did some drawing and writing on a blackboard there.







After we had a rest we walked into the old town. It was beautiful! We had to watch out because the streets were narrow and there were lots of people on bikes as well as horses and carriages!










There are lots of very old and beautiful buildings.

Buckingham Palace

Today was our last day in London. We visited Buckingham Palace, had coffee and cake in Harrods, and mum and dad dragged me around the shops! We left for Dover that night after a quick catchup and last minute farewell with Kavita and Simon

I had a lovely day today with mums friends Prue & Val. On our walk to meet them we saw the last leg of the "Tour of Britain"....

Pooh sticks

Today we went hunting for Pooh Bear in Ashdown Forest. First we had lunch in the Pooh Corner.



Then we went on a walk to the bridge to play pooh sticks. We had lots of tries. Sometimes they got lost under the bridge.
